Vinicunca Mountain Tour from Cusco – Full Day

Rainbow Mountain has recently become one of the most popular day hikes in the Cusco region. At over 5,000 meters (16,000 feet), Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley are truly an unforgettable experience where you will explore the rich colors of  Vinicunca .

Vinicunca, Rainbow Mountain and Colorful Mountain are some of the few names of this incredible place, a relatively new tourist attraction located in Cusco.

we  will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and drive 3 hours to the trailhead, where your local chef will have a  breakfast with stunning views of the Vilcanota Mountain Range. After breakfast, begin a 2-hour hike to the top of Rainbow Mountain. The hike is challenging due to the high altitude of the mountain (5000m-16000ft).

The Red Valley  is located a few meters from Rainbow Mountain; You can reach the landscapes of iron-rich soils after enjoying the Rainbow Mountain. ( the hike to the red valley is optional)

About this tour

We start from your hotel, where we will pick you up between 04:30 to 05:00 am, then we will begin our trip at a distance of 2 hours from the city of Cusco until we reach the town of Cusipata:

  • Cusipata place to have breakfast (semi buffet service) average time 30
  • We will continue our trip for 1 hour until we reach the town of Chillhuani where we will begin our
  • An average time of 1 hour and 30 minutes is the ascent time to the mountain.
  • Once you reach the summit the photography time extends for approximately 25
  • We will begin with the descent walk, an average time of 1 hour until we reach the original starting point, where the tourist transport will be waiting for you, to take us back to the town of Cusipata to have lunch (semi-buffet lunch).
  • After lunch, on a 3-hour trip we will return to the city of Cusco at 5:00 p.m. approximately
