Waqrapukara Tour is a new and recently promoted tourist attraction in Cusco located in the province of Acomayo near the Apurimac River at 4,300 meters above sea level. (13,123 feet), south of the city of Cusco. Waqrapukara has not yet been deciphered and can be considered as a fortress, a sanctuary or an astronomical observatory. It was initially built by the Quinchas and later conquered by the Incas. This tour will take you to a different and unusual destination, where you will enjoy the spectacular landscapes, different lagoons, abysses of the Apurimac canyon, and you will also connect with the nature and energy of this amazing place.

Cusco – Acomayo – Waqrapukara – Cusco.
Very early around 3:30 a.m. We will pick you up from your hotel to go to the starting point of our 2.5-hour trek to the province of Acomayo, where we will enjoy the four lagoons of Acomayo circuit. We continue for another 30 minutes to Laguna Qenterococha (4,330 meters 14,138 feet) where we will have a delicious breakfast. After our breakfast, we will start our trek to the Waqrapukara complex. On the way of our walk, we will be able to identify the flora and wildlife of the area.
Once we reach the first Waqrapukara viewpoint, we will take a break and then continue until we reach our goal. Finally we will arrive at this incredible place, we will rest, to explore the archaeological center with our guide who will give us all the detailed information, then you will have free time to explore and take photos. Then we will start walking back. But we will take a different path that is easier and also has different views of the Apurimac Canyon. We will return to the beginning of the trail at an average of 1:40 p.m., where our private transport awaits us and we will also have lunch. We will return to Cusco around 7:00 p.m. Travelers who make the trip to Waqrapukara must be in good physical condition and with good acclimatization to the altitude.
